Our country's largest metropolis and a hot bed for not only big business industrialists; but more importantly, a continually growing center for culture and diversity from all areas of the globe. The city of Toronto alone houses over 2 million people and with it's surrounding cities, the GTA [Greater Toronto Area] has an ever climbing population which is currently over 5.5 million. Wow! It's not hard to see why so many people make this their home, place of work, as well as a hub for shopping and of course dining. Although Toronto is the most desired location for most, sometimes the busy lifestyle and surroundings can become all too hectic and a short escape is often needed. About a twenty minute drive north of Brampton on Hwy 10, nestled in the county of Dufferin; neighbour to such beautiful landmarks as Hockley Valley, the Forks of the Credit, the Bruce Trail and Mono Cliffs Provincial Park [just to name a few] is a growing town by the name of Orangeville. Orangeville is expanding, yet there is always a true sense of community and it seems as the town grows in size the people also grow closer, being brought together by a number of community events and a focus on still trying to maintain a strong base of family run business. From opening it's doors in September of 2002, owners Rodney Hough and Roger Genoe have devoted themselves in providing the ultimate in dining experiences, through a combined passion for this art... and it shows. One step inside will give you an overwhelming sense of elegance, romanticism and sophistication that only a five star restaurant can display. If ever the words fine dining were to be used, One99 is a much deserving example. From the signature colours of cranberry and gold, lining the walls and large booths, stretching up to the immensely high ceilings. You feel a warming calm come over you as the long thin front dining room envelopes you, bringing you in, making you believe you truly are being invited to indulge in a meal comprised of carefully and lovingly prepared dishes and hand picked wines to suit any combination of flavours. A walk through the kitchen and up a set of stairs brings you to the second dining room, again lined with large comfortable booths and a glowing felicity, almost making you never want to leave. For those wanting a more intimate experience, there is a private wine room with a glass wall over-looking the front dining room. But it doesn't end there.
